You gotta check out this player video from Star Wars Galaxies. Absolutely hilarious (and pretty impressive, too!). It's in ASF format, but mplayer works fine for all those Linux geeks out there.

First private spaceflight successful

Mike Melvill, the first civilian astronaut, has just landed in Scaled Composite's SpaceShipOne after a flawless flight to 100km, the edge of space.

This was the first private spaceflight in history, and a precursor to Scaled's X-Prize attempt.

I've got to hand it to BBC, too, as they were the only people to offer a decent video webcast of the event.

EDIT: Looks like it wasn't as flawless as it seemed.
